Le ballet diplomatique s’intensifie dans la capitale angolaise. Ce jeudi 8 janvier 2026, le président de la République démocratique du Congo (RDC), Félix Tshisekedi, a été reçu par son homologue João Lourenço au palais présidentiel de la « Cidade Alta », à Luanda. Cette nouvelle visite de travail marque une accélération des consultations entre les deux chefs d’État, dans la foulée de leurs premiers échanges entamés le lundi précédent.
Le tête-à-tête s’est concentré sur la situation sécuritaire, jugée préoccupante, dans les provinces du Nord et du Sud-Kivu. La rencontre intervient dans un contexte de crise majeure, marqué par l’occupation de la ville stratégique d’Uvira par les troupes rwandaises, agissant aux côtés de leurs supplétifs de la coalition AFC/M23.
Face à cette escalade sur le terrain, les deux dirigeants ont profité de cet entretien pour évaluer les implications de cette nouvelle donne territoriale et coordonner leur réponse diplomatique.
Malgré la dégradation de la situation militaire, Luanda et Kinshasa entendent privilégier les voies de la négociation internationale. À l’issue de leur rencontre, Félix Tshisekedi et João Lourenço ont réaffirmé leur plein appui aux efforts de paix actuellement menés sous l’égide de la communauté internationale.
Les deux présidents ont ainsi réitéré leur soutien aux processus de Washington et de Doha, confirmant leur volonté de voir ces mécanismes aboutir à une désescalade durable dans l’est de la RDC.
